Welcome to our opt-in
e-newsletter. Please pass it on to colleagues with a shared interest in
public protection through the establishment of quality, competency-based certification programs for professionals engaged in the prevention and treatment of addictions and related problems.
A Note from Our President
Jane Furtner
The board is in the process of updating our website, and will be including a listing of currently certified counselors by county. Be sure to use our latest application manual and recertification packet, each has a space for your county. This will help with locating a counselor for employers or potential clients.

In addition, the upgrade will enhance your visibility as a certified person, and there is an option to connect your profile to our website. See the article by our Webmaster, Steve Johnson for more information.

We also will have the option for agencies and individuals to enhance their web presence by posting an ad on our opening page.

New applications are up, renewals are increasing and your credentials are increasing in value as a competent provider of care for those who suffer from addictions.

Please be sure to reserve January 9, 2012, for the Recovery Day at the Capitol. See the flyer in the newsletter.

Thank you for the privilege of serving as your President.

                                To our continued success,

How Much Of Your Business in 2011 Came From The Internet?

Steve Johnson

Some? None??

How many inquiries about your services have you received through your web presence? Some? None??

A total of one third of all inquiries is considered nominal results for a web presence, so if you aren't getting numbers like that you should consider revising it. Better still, have a professional look at it and help you to make it perform the way it should.

Most people put up a website using a template and think that by simply having a website, their business will be found on the internet by consumers looking for services. Not so. In order for your site to be on the first several pages of potentially millions of competitors, you must do several things technically to get a decent Google ranking.

You must carefully choose specific keywords and keyphrases that your site will be optimized towards. If you choose too many, you won't be deemed relevant and your ranking will suffer. If you choose too few, the same holds true. You must keep in mind that you must do more than simply optimizing because SEO is a very passive approach to proper web marketing.

Businesses that are part of a searchable database on a popular site, in addition to their own stand-alone site, will have a greater ranking than those that don't. In addition, using various directories and effective social networking are critical steps in enhancing your web presence.

With the tremendous opportunities in social networking and article syndication, effective web design is critical.  Many companies spend a lot of money driving traffic to their site, only to find out that few visitors, if any, read past the first page.  Average time on site is under 5 seconds!  Do prospects run screaming from your site? Do you have site analytics installed so you can answer that question?

There is no silver bullet that will produce overnight success.  Using methodologies outlined by the search engines to drive traffic to your site, then leveraging design, SEO and exposure to quickly build your online reputation will result in increased business.

With a focus on EXPOSURE and taking for granted our capabilities in beautiful design and SEO, Wetcatwebs.com, Inc. builds effective websites and webpages that propel businesses and organizations to the next level in a very short timeframe.  We combine brilliant strategies and proven techniques to aggressively go out after the target market where they work and play.  Rather than relying solely on the hope that someone Googles a phrase that millions of other sites are optimizing towards, WetCatWebs builds credibility in the targeted community.  Our clients give advice on a desired topic, and eventually become regarded as experts in their industry.  They have followers that opt-in to hear their words of wisdom.
