We provide competency-based certification that will
assure
quality care for those affected by substance abuse.
Certification is a voluntary process whereby professionals with a special interest in providing treatment to substance abusers and their families may receive recognition for their competency.

Public protection through credentialing. The International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) sets the international standards of practice in addiction counseling, prevention and clinical supervision through testing and credentialing of addiction professionals. IC&RC includes 73 agencies representing more than 37,000 certified professionals internationally.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) offers online continuing education for substance abuse treatment professionals. These courses are made available through the Knowledge Application Program (KAP). The online courses are designed to provide you with an opportunity for professional growth and the continuing education units (CEU) hours you need to maintain certification or licensure.
Prevention Credentialing Consortium of Georgia- The PCCG is a 501© (6) organization with committees covering credentialing, recertification, training, public relations, resource development and prevention ethics. A Board of Directors represents both the private and public sectors (including grass roots representation) in Georgia.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has established a clear vision for its work -- a life in the community for everyone. To realize this vision, the Agency has sharply focused its mission on building resilience and facilitating recovery for people with or at risk for mental or substance use disorders. SAMHSA is gearing all of its resources -- programs, policies and grants -- toward that outcome.
The Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), promotes the quality and availability of community-based substance abuse treatment services for individuals and families who need them. CSAT works with States and community-based groups to improve and expand existing substance abuse treatment services under the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant Program. CSAT also supports SAMHSA’s free treatment referral service to link people with the community-based substance abuse services they need.

The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.

The Institute for Addiction and Criminal Justice Studies is an internet based educational service that provides comprehensive addiction and criminal justice training and information to certified and/or licensed alcohol and drug counselors, criminal justice professionals, and other helping professionals pursuing certification in these areas.
The Distance Learning Center for Addiction Studies (DLCAS) is an internet
based educational service that provides comprehensive training and
information in the field of addiction studies. Such knowledge will help
individuals stay current with the advances of the field, or will provide the
educational training hours needed to either obtain or maintain a credential
as a drug/alcohol counseling professional.
Exclusive provider of study materials for the AODA and Advanced AODA written & oral examinations, AODA Spanish Translation, Clinical Supervisor, and Prevention Specialist exams. ReadyToTest.com was developed to assist counseling professionals who are working to obtain a credential (licensure or certification) as a drug and/or alcohol counselor.
Substance Abuse Professional Training and Examinations
Professional Training Center, Inc. was developed out of an association of nationally recognized trainers. The purpose of the organization was to enhance the competency levels of professionals working within the business and health care community. We offer a variety of training events for mental health and substance abuse professionals, EAP’s, business and professional organizations.
